Google Pixel 3a Review

At first glance, you may not spot any existing differences between the budget-friendly Pixel 3a and the premium Pixel 3. But to get the Pixel 3a's price low enough to create a big influence on the market, Google needed to take out some niceties. The Pixel 3a loses the IP rating, swaps the glass with plastic material, takes away the wireless charging, and changes out the top-of-the-line CPU for something more middling. However, The Google Pixel 3a Amazon does as well as my Pixel 2XL did, for half the price.

Positives: affordable, amazing camera system, google eco-system, battery-life, headphone jack Negatives: somewhat buggy phone app, cheaper materials used, not quite waterproof, lack of wireless charging, no earbuds included

The bigger Pixel 3a XL is spec-for-spec pretty much similar to the smaller Pixel 3a. The most significant improvement is the bigger battery juice and larger display. More juice equals more power to get you through the day. You should check out the 3a XL if those are the highlights you prefer.

One of the valuable features of the Google Pixel 3 is Active Edge, which lets you squeeze the edges of the handset to summon Google Assistant, which is also present for the Pixel 3a, that may be something we did not expect to have given the cheaper price. It did experience a little harder to press when compared to over a Pixel 3 on the other hand, so we noticed ourselves having to squeeze quite tight to work with the feature. The Pixel 3a is a little bigger than its high-end forebear, with dimensions of 151.3 x 70.1 x 8.2mm, however , it's rather light weight at 148g - this is because, as said before, instead of the glass back of the Pixel 3, the rear of the Pixel 3a is plastic material, providing the handset a slightly little 'premium' experience.

The display screen on the Pixel 3a is definitely awesome. We rarely once looked over the device during the review period and thought we were looking over at a mobile phone which usually cost $399. Besides having a slightly poor pixel density when compared to its premium counterparts, the Pixel 3a's display was great to look at. We often maintain the screen brightness up the whole day, bumping it up to 100% when out of doors. It would have been great to enjoy a brighter display, particularly for outdoor use. Google allows you to fine-tune the color tone of the screen. We kept the default Adaptive setting enabled because We found it the most true-to-life, even if colors were a lttle bit over-saturated at times.
